Edisto Contracting, LLC, located in Orangeburg, SC, seeking motivated, reliable team members for the Construction Laborer position.

The Construction Laborer will be supporting company leadership, equipment operations, and providing general labor support as needed.

Job responsibilities

• Perform tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, and heavy construction projects
• Tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites
• May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
• May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove asbestos, lead, and other hazardous waste materials.
• May assist other skilled workers.

Job Requirements

• Must be on time to work.
• Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Follow the direction of grading foreman or designated supervisor
• Must meet ECLLC pre-employment drug test and random drug test.
• Availability to work overtime and possible weekends
• Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures.
• Must follow ECLLC’s company policies and procedures.
• Must be 18+ years of age
• Have the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50-60 pounds.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working on road, highway, and heavy construction sites
